Celebrating You

Dear Teachers,

Today culminates a week of celebrating you as a teacher. And although it is always fun to have a week of treats, gifts, prizes, fun, and shout-outs, at its heart the purpose of Teacher Appreciation Week is to recognize teachers for all they do. It is about truly seeing and appreciating their work.

This appreciation is officially celebrated this week, but it is worthy of being celebrated every day of the year. You rise to the challenges of teaching each and every day, and we want you to know, we see you.

We see you build relationships so you can truly know each student—what they need and how they learn.

We see you worry about your students’ health and safety as if they were your own children.

We see you create lessons that grab students’ attention and immerse them in unique learning experiences.

We see your emails come in at all hours of the day, because you work all hours of the day.

We see you encourage from near and far through conversation, phone calls, and notes home.

We see you spending your hard-earned money to provide materials for your classroom and your students.

We see you engage in professional learning to stay up to date with best practices.

We see the pride on your face when students succeed.

We see you teach beyond the academic curriculum—about social justice, empathy, life skills, and more.

We see you take it with you because there is no “leaving it at the door” when it comes to your students. Their struggles are your struggles, and their success is your success.

We see you smile, laugh, and bring joy to learning.

We see you love, give selflessly, and show up day in and day out.

And this week, we honor you for those reasons and so many more. Thank you for all you do.
