Many States and communities are beginning to open up again, which means we can venture out more than we have for the past three months. I’m hearing from so many people with questions and some concerns about venturing out. Many are ready to throw caution to the wind and get back to their old habits, while others are hesitant of the risk of exposure.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention provides guidance for things to consider when you decide to go out. Find their recommendations here.
The CDC guidance is very thorough, and here are a few highlights to consider before considering to go out:
- How many people will you interact with? The more people, the higher the risk.
- Can you keep 6 feet of space between you and others? Will you be outdoors or indoors? Indoor space is more risky.
- How long will you be interacting with people? The more time, the higher the risk of exposure.
The virus is still active in our states and communities, so when you do decide to venture out, don’t forget your prevention efforts:
- Wear a face covering. You wear a face covering to protect others, and others wear a face covering to protect you.
- Practice distancing. Remember the 6 foot distance between you and others protects you from exposure to the virus.
- Wash you hands frequently, or use hand sanitizer.
- Avoid touching your face. The virus enters through your nose, mouth and eyes.
If you have been exposed to anyone who has the virus, stay home and isolate yourself.
We still have a long way to go before we are over this.
Be safe, B-Resilient
