Criticism, like rain, should be gentle enough to nourish a man's growth without destroying his roots. —Frank A. Clark
We've all been in situations where our input was requested and we guarded our response because we didn't want to hurt feelings. But sometimes we need to be truly honest with our family, friends, or colleagues. This is especially true if they ask for our feedback or opinions and want honest input and suggestions.
Whenever I'm in a situation where I am giving input or suggestions, the above quote helps me find balance in the words I choose. Criticism can sometimes be painful and hurtful, even when it's solicited. However, gentle criticism can help us grow.
Choose words that are gentle rain.
