At times we push ourselves to the point that we come close to running on empty. It's easy to get overwhelmed by our complex responsibilities and multi-tasking lives. Sometimes someone comes along when we need it most, and a simple act of kindness renews our strength.
Sometimes a simple joy brings needed strength and resolve. I was in an airport recently, standing in the security line with a long line of other travelers, when I noticed three young women assisting a group of elderly adults through the travel requirements. They were calm and patient, and their kind assistance lifted my heart. I realized that just witnessing this act of kindness had filled me back up.
So, next time you feel like you are close to running on empty, take a deep breath, look around, and pay attention to someone or something that can renew your strength and spirit as well.
