Life can sometimes feel like you are playing a game of chess. We make moves and choices as we strategize to outmaneuver others. It's just a game, but some days the moves are more obvious and the choices are easier. When a choice positions you just right for the future, you may congratulate yourself with a "Way to go! Good move! That was easy."
However, sometimes the choices we make lead us on a circuitous route to an outcome we were not hoping for. Some decisions are made in haste or without thinking of the long-term consequences, and we can admit that they were perhaps not the best choices we have ever made.
Life can sometimes feel like a chess game with very strategically thought-out moves that guide us systematically through our choices and outcomes. Other times it feels like we are playing Chutes and Ladders! If choices are made with a roll of dice, without purposeful strategic decisions, we may move forward only to slide backward, and need to start over.
Most lives are a combination of several games at the same time. Which game does your life resemble? No matter what game you relate your life to, enjoy the moves you make and the twists and turns they have you take. And always remember to be a good sport at the game you play.
