Have you ever known someone who carries a grudge? I'm sure none of you have ever done that, but if you have, consider this. When you carry a grudge your mind is in a constant state of negativity. The grudge you carry is influencing everyone around you and everything you do. Others can literally see and feel the negative energy a person exudes while carrying a grudge.
Did you know that carrying a grudge can actually impact your health? Your body can set up an anxiety response whenever you think about this grudge. This anxiety can cause your heart to race, and your body to be in a constant state of distress. Carrying a grudge can be harmful to your health.
So, the next time you think you might want to carry around a grudge, ask yourself these two simple questions first:
- Is this grudge causing me to have a negative attitude and robbing me of my positive thoughts and energy?
- Is this grudge impacting my life and making me sick?
If the answer is yes to either of these questions, it's time you give yourself permission to let this grudge go. No one is responsible for you carrying this grudge except you. A grudge is too heavy to carry around. It's time to let it go.
