A well-developed sense of humor is the pole that adds balance to your steps as you walk the tightrope of life. —William Arthur Ward
Do you have people in your life who make you laugh? The kind of laugh that brings tears to your eyes and a stitch to your side? What a wonderful gift.
There are many dimensions to humor. It can be dry, sarcastic, or even unintentional.
I recently sat back and observed while four generations of family members conversed at the dinner table. The humor of my 90-year-old father differs from the humor of our 3-year-old grandson, but nonetheless, each brought smiles and laughter to the rest of us.
Lighthearted humor has served my father well over the years. He has always been quick to smile and laugh. We are fortunate that the balance he has found in his life has been shared with each of us, influencing how we see life as well.
Whatever style of humor we have, it can help us find balance during the more somber times in our lives. Are you craving a little balance in your own life? Be on the lookout for the humor around you.
