I am rereading Who's Doing The Work? by Burkins and Yaris-I am using this book with several teachers right now. Anytime a teacher says "________ can do it when I sit next to him but not when he is working independently" I know this is the book that the teacher needs. This book is valuable for EVERY reading teacher regardless of how long they have taught. It challenges teachers to scaffold appropriately so that kids are getting the support they need to learn how to read independently.
I think every human being should read this book! This book will inspire you to spend a little time outside, get out of your comfort zone and find joy along the way. The best part is that the suggestions that Easter makes are scalable and accessible to every human being. An eighty year old can benefit from this book just as much as a twenty year old! Even my 14 year old son read it!

I pre-ordered Daniel Pink's latest book, and it was delivered just two days ago! His books Drive and When were game changers for me, so of course I couldn’t wait to read his new release!
After following Amy Weatherly on social media, and relating to her day-to-day interactions with friends, children and spouse, I was on the waitlist for this release. A fun loving story about finding friendships and connection.

Such a wonderful book if you love Italian cooking and want to read Stanley Tucci's memoir. Lots of good recipes are included in this book. Anyone want to travel through Italy (when it is safe) on a food/cooking tour?
Getting ready to have my students bird watch with Project Feederwatch and need to learn how to observe, tally, and note the habits of birds in our area to help them with Cornell's data collection.

The 10,000-hour rule to specialize suggests anyone who wants to develop a skill needs to start early and focus intensely. Range looks closer at research that shows early specialization is the exception, not the rule.
This novel covers 200 years in America, past present, and future, and characters show up again in different eras; their soul actually, because they re-emerge as different people facing different challenges.

Any Jason Reynolds book is an automatic pre-order for me and with his newest book he seems to have done it again! Described as, "A smash-up of art and text for teens that viscerally captures what it is to be Black. In America. Right Now." I'm having to force myself to not finish it in one sitting so I can fully digest and sit in this book. Beautiful, heartbreaking, hope filled and timely.
I'm kicking off Black History Month with this deeply researched book about the hidden caste system that has shaped America and how it continues to impact the country and the world today. I've continued to hear it described as a "must-read" and I'm all ears.

I am re-reading this one with my third child (a second-grader). I never tire of the interesting story and the desire that he has to read just one more chapter!
I am also re-reading this one as I work to communicate more clearly with you about CAFE and the ways it can help in everything from making learning visible to differentiated instruction to assessing students.
