We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.
—Irish literary critic George Bernard Shaw, 1856-1950
How many times have you heard this quote and thought to yourself, How true! We all know about the power of play, but do we actually take time to do it?
You see the importance of play in your own children young and old, as well as the children you teach every day. Play is rejuvenating and energizing, and is a way to help balance your mind, heart, and soul. Play can be anything you want, as long as it's enjoyable and fun and takes your mind off the routine "adult life" we live.
Have you played lately? If not, it's time to build play into your schedule. Play has a powerful positive effect on our lives. Go out and PLAY. You'll be a happier person if you do.
