Carol Moehrle
Every day I write down what I am grateful for. When I first started doing it, it seemed like a struggle, but I was committed to making it a habit, and it has became routine. I find that each day I look forward to calming my thoughts and focusing on what I am grateful for. Writing it down makes it real for me, and gives it a place in my heart.
My list is often very simple and holds just a few items. Some days I am happy for the morning sunshine and the ability to get out of bed. Some days I am grateful that someone else cooked dinner or did dishes. Each day I am thankful for my family and coworkers.
There are days when work is tough or we listen to the news and it's hard to find good stuff to be thankful for. That's why I practice each day to find the positive in my life and focus on those things, events, and people for which I am grateful.
Try writing down what you are grateful for. I guarantee that you will find a life full of gratitude if you take time each day to reflect on being thankful.
