What happens when you hold a conference with 400 teachers next door to a widely-popular Comic-Con convention? You get energy, learning, fun, and entertainment. This past weekend we had the pleasure of joining teachers in San Jose, California for our latest conference and we want to share the burning questions of the weekend with you.
- What strategy do I teach first?
Our students come with a variety of strengths and needs and require instruction specifically tailored to their development. We don’t follow the CAFÉ menu in a prescribed order, but we do offer this support when deciding where to begin.
- Am I doing Daily 5 correctly?
While Daily 5 looks different in every classroom, there are eight elements that are essential. These elements are: structure, tasks, classroom design, materials, launch, choice, barometer behaviors, and support.
- Why is Math Writing an option during Math Daily 3?
As stated in this article, mathematical writing engages students in mathematical reasoning and communication.
We had an unrelated question of our own. What is Comic-con? If you are wondering too, check this out.
