I had the privilege of observing math in Courtney Tomfohr's room. She does something brilliant that you might like to do as well. As she wanders around the room, supporting, conferring, and getting to the heart of what her students are thinking as they solve problems, she takes her camera.
She snaps photos of their work, and when it's time for sharing, she pulls the memory card out of the camera, plugs it into her computer, and quickly displays the work she wants to highlight. Students share their process and thinking with a powerful visual. Peers can ask questions and learn from each other. It was brilliant.
