These Hands is a shocking and moving story about African American workers at the Wonder Bread factory in the 1950's and early 1960's who were allowed to do all manner of manual labor except that which involved touching the bread dough. In it, a loving grandfather tells his young grandson about all the things his old hands used to do, from tying shoes, to playing piano, signing petitions, and working to change things that were not right.
