We are bursting with excitement over the release of our latest book, Prepared Classroom: Ready to Teach, Ready to Learn, coming out next month! If you’ve ever worked on a big project, you know the process is, well, a process. For us, the idea of Prepared Classroom started in a conversation, developed into classroom practice, grew into a written draft, morphed through countless revisions, and finally—finally!—it is about to become a real, tangible book. From the initial brainstorming, to outlining and writing, to revising (and revising some more), we’ve poured our hearts into this book. And now, after all the page proofs and editing, we’re here, waiting . . . patiently (sort of) for it to hit the shelves.
“Patience is a virtue,” they say. And while that’s easy to say, actually practicing patience? Well, that’s a whole different story! But good things come to those who wait, right? So here we are, sharing sneak peeks of the cover, giving you a glimpse into the content, and talking about the process, because while we wait, we can’t help but share the excitement with you!
We know that patience is not new to you. Let’s face it—patience is practically a superpower for teachers. Whether it’s waiting for a student to finally get that tricky math concept or staying calm during a chaotic classroom moment, teachers practice patience like pros. From those early days of back-to-school when routines are being established, to the end of the year when everyone (including you!) is feeling a little worn out, patience is your constant companion. It’s in the waiting for your students to grow, learn, and shine in their own time, even when progress feels slow.
Think about those moments when you’ve explained a lesson for the third time, and finally you see the lightbulb go off for that one student. Or when a classroom management strategy you’ve been patiently practicing starts working like magic. That’s the beauty of patience—it pays off, even when it feels like nothing is happening. And the same goes for this book we’ve been working on. Just like in the classroom, the process has its ups and downs, but the result will be worth the wait!
So, as we count down to the big release, we’re practicing patience right alongside you. Hang in there, and in the meantime, we’ll keep sharing all the exciting details! After all, just because the book isn’t in your hands yet doesn’t mean we can’t talk about it.
