The Common Core Standards define the knowledge and skills students should have when leaving a particular grade level. You will notice the 6th grade CAFE menu aligned with the Common Core does not contain as many standards that align with CAFE strategies. This is due to the fact that many 6th grade students do not need direct instruction in accuracy strategies/sight word recognition. However, 6th grade students will still benefit from having access to all strategies in the CAFE menu to assist them if they come to a word they are unsure of.
