Purpose and Passion

Passion and purpose go hand in hand. When you discover your purpose, you will normally find it's something you're tremendously passionate about. Steve Pavlina

Why do we do what we do? Is it to fulfill a deeper purpose? Are we drawn to it without really understanding it, calling it our purpose or passion?

My dad and brother are farmers. They deal with the uncertainties of the weather, outside climate conditions, the market, and so on. How do they do what they do even though it is affected by factors they cannot control? Why do they farm? The answer is simple. They farm because they have a purpose and a passion.

How about you? Why do you teach? My guess is that your purpose and passion draw you to the classroom and keep you coming back to serve children. You teach because you see a reason for or purpose in it. There may be times when you feel that the amount of control and influence you have is limited, but you serve with integrity and passion without absorbing the negative influences around you.

Long ago you discovered your purpose, and you have found that teaching is something you are tremendously passionate about. Even when situations seem out of your control, you know you have a strong influence in the lives of children. Your passion shows daily as you help children succeed, working through their issues and troubles. One day they will find their own purposes and passions, which you will have helped to influence.

Remind yourself every day that your purpose and passion go hand in hand with the children you teach.
