Changing Seasons

What do you love about the changing seasons?

Do they remind you of childhood memories or family traditions? Are the seasons like cyclic revolutions that depict parts of the year that we try hard to hold on to? What are your favorite reminders of seasonal changes?

When I think of changing seasons, I think of colors, smells, noises, and tastes. Some of these come from childhood memories and some from traditions that I have developed over the years.

For fall, I love the changing colors of golden wheat, rust-colored leaves, and orange pumpkins. I remember the smell of paper in a new notebook for school and the smell of a lead pencil. I recall vividly the sound of walking on crisp fallen leaves, and the sounds of the first football game of the season. And I can taste the apple picked from the tree, and the peaches with cream.

Fall is upon us, and I encourage you to take time to reflect on your favorite sights, smells, and sounds of this changing season.

Start your own fall memories.
