We’re getting to the season of “high-stakes” testing, and I’ve looking for ways to help the 4th-5th graders I work with as a reading specialist.
One thing I noticed is that on their own is that they still do not automatically form mental images as they read. They can do it with me as we discuss it, but they are not independent with this strategy yet. So, this morning when I opened up the “Tip of the Week” I was so excited to see a video lesson about that exact topic. I picked up some ideas on how to cry a new way to get them to do this, and can’t wait until Monday to try it out!!.
