I just launched the Daily CAFE with my first graders and I am so overwhelmed with conferring with each student. I feel like some kids have so many things that could be their goal and I'm not sure which to choose or which would be best to advance them. Then others are reading so high that their goal is something that I haven't taught whole class and I have to do a whole mini lesson with them that takes way more than 3-5 minutes... I have only been able to confer with 2-3 kids a day so far because my conferences are lasting too long... Any tips on how to kick this off smoother would be appreciated!
