Regie's Recs

We can't get enough of lists of books that our friends are reading. And, of course, the list from Regie Routman does not disappoint. In this list, Regie shares many books she read in 2024, and refines it by calling out the books that left the "strongest impression" on her. The books that "most impacted and informed" her as a "reader, writer, learner, thinker, and citizen." The lists date back to 2009 for years of book recommendations! We believe that her list can impact and inform all of us.

Regie Routman is a longtime educator and equity champion who has worked for decades with underperforming schools and districts to increase and sustain reading and writing achievement and joy in learning for all students. She is the author of many books and resources, most recently Literacy Essentials: Engagement, Excellence, and Equity for All Learners (Stenhouse, 2018).
