Looking for a way for students to reflect on their positive experiences from the school year, and share their excitement with others?  Having each of your students from this year write a letter to a student that will be in your class next year is a great way to do this! Not only does it give students a chance to reflect, but it also helps incoming students feel welcomed and less anxious about the new school year. The letter that is waiting for them at the start of a new year serves as advice and encouragement for the upcoming year. Additionally, it promotes writing skills and self-expression for the current students, giving them a meaningful and authentic audience for their work.Try having students do this on plain paper, or jazz it up a bit with one of the templates included here!
