The end of the school year is the perfect time for reflection—but let’s be real, asking students to simply “write about their year” often leads to blank stares and minimal effort. That’s where a Gallery Walk Reflection comes in!

Instead of handing out reflection sheets, try this interactive approach:

  • Set Up Reflection Stations – Hang chart paper around the room with different prompts written on them.
  • Let Students Respond – Give each student a marker and have them rotate around the room, adding their thoughts, memories, and insights to each chart.
  • Discuss & Celebrate – After the gallery walk, read through the responses as a class. Celebrate growth, share laughs, and relive favorite moments!

Possible Reflection Questions to Use:

  • What is something you are proud of accomplishing this year?
  • What was the most fun lesson or activity we did?
  • How has your thinking changed since the start of the year?
  • What advice would you give next year’s students?
  • What was a challenge you faced, and how did you overcome it?
  • What is one thing you’ll never forget about this class?

This activity keeps students engaged, gets them moving, and creates a meaningful wrap-up to the school year. Plus, it gives you valuable insight into what truly resonated with them!
