what do you think about a cast iron bathtub in the classroom filled with pillows?
One of our first grade teachers has such a bathtub in her room. It’s been filled with various things over the years–plastic balls, pillows, etc. The kids love it as a place for “Read to Someone”.
For two years I had a lovely old cast iron tub that a parent managed to get into my room. We filled it with pillows and one year my class painted the outside with acrylic paint. Sadly, when I left the school I left the tub. The kids took turns reading in it. It added a certain “je ne sais quoi” to the room.
