This photo was taken in Dubai. . . all because of one teacher and a positive collegial relationship that developed when we worked together, a relationship that continued to grow even after we moved to different districts, states, countries, and continents.
Building relationships with students and colleagues is one of the highlights of our career. We spend hours each day with our students. We may spend more time with our colleagues than we do with our own families, laughing at lunch, learning together, nudging one another professionally, poring over data, and reflecting on student successes and challenges. It is no wonder so many of them become lifelong friends.
I’ve joined many of my teaching friends on journeys: traveling to each other's classrooms so we can plan together as a team, congregating to discuss and learn from professional books, and relying on and supporting each other through challenges that come our way, all the while learning more about each other and deepening our friendship.
Whether you travel down the hall, through the Internet, or around the world, students benefit from the thinking, conversations, and learning that we do together.
Where will you travel today?

Apology for Twitter Hack, Fake Political Endorsement.
We apologize! Our Twitter account was hacked and used to send political and other non-education messages. We want to make sure all of you know that we do not endorse any political candidates, a very personal choice for each of us. We will remain vigilant vis-à-vis our social media accounts to make sure you receive relevant, helpful and fun things from us and the education community, of which we are an active part. We look forward to continued conversations with you!
