Hello!
I currently teach 4th grade at a bilingual school in California (the students are either in the French/English program or the Chinese/English program). To add to the complexity of our school, we are in the middle of (hopefully!) getting accredited to be an IB (International Baccalaureate) school - more so specifically the PYP (Primary Years Programme).
I was seeking advice from others as to how they balance doing Daily 5 within a bilingual school. If not a bilingual school, then any advice as to how balance Daily 5 within the PYP. Some of us here have adjusted Daily 5 into a "goal time" instead for students to use the foundational skills from Daily 5 to help with stanima and independence, but with only two hours a day with our students, we struggle to even accomplish that.
I would love to hear from others regarding how the balance Daily 5 within a very different setting and things you have found useful/beneficial. Any advice is welcome!
Melanie
