This week marks a big milestone for us—Prepared Classroom: Ready to Teach, Ready to Learn is officially out! It’s exciting, but it also feels a little surreal, especially since this book started as an answer to a simple question: “How do I set the tone for a positive classroom culture right from day one?”
In classrooms, every school year brings its own unique challenges and opportunities. There are new faces, new goals, and the chance to set up routines that make the entire year run smoothly. As we developed this book, we thought back to our own early teaching days, the lessons learned from classrooms over the years, and the strategies that proved to be effective, year after year.
So what makes Prepared Classroom unique? It’s a resource that takes the guesswork out of creating consistent, clear classroom expectations. This book is filled with predesigned lessons specifically created to set routines in place, so you’re free to focus on the “why” behind each strategy. It’s all about helping students understand what’s expected and when, freeing up their minds to engage with the actual learning.
Prepared Classroom provides a streamlined approach to revisit beginning-of-the-year routines without re-creating the wheel. It is a guide to getting everyone on the same page with consistent, evidence-based practices that bring confidence and cohesion to your team. With tried-and-tested methods, Prepared Classroom provides a road map for behavior management that moves beyond rewards and consequences and instead focuses on engagement and learning.
It’s a book for all of us in education who want to create environments where students feel safe, clear on expectations, and ready to dive into learning with fewer distractions. This release is the result of countless ideas, hard work, and a shared passion for education—and we hope it’s exactly what you need to feel prepared, confident, and ready to teach.
Thank you for joining us on this journey. We’re thrilled to share this resource with you and your students, and we can’t wait to see the impact it has in your classrooms!
