Organizing Our Resources

January 7, 2016

I am a note taker. Whether I am on the phone, in a meeting, at a conference, or even having casual conversation, when I hear something I want to remember, I take notes. My problem is that my notes are scattered everywhere, because I take them on whatever paper is closest at hand. This lack of consistency makes it nearly impossible to retrieve those important thoughts when I need them.

An Important Message from Santa

December 24, 2015

We spend a lot of time in airports waiting for flights. Like many of you, we enjoy passing time by people watching. We were doing just that in an airport recently when our eyes landed on a most interesting person. He was a jolly looking man, walking our direction, dressed all in red (including red tennis shoes). He had a beautiful white beard (I would swear it was curled with a curling iron it seemed so perfect), little glasses perched on the end of his nose, a twinkle in his eye, and a red backpack with the name "Santa" embroidered on the front.

In Just 10 Minutes . . .

November 13, 2015

I take the same route every morning when I drive my son, Nathan, to school. We take the same turns, halt at the same stop signs, pass the same cornfields, and often follow the same cars before arriving at school near the same time each morning. Even though it is a monotonous routine, I treasure this 10-minute drive because it gives us time to talk, allowing me to get to know my son a little better each day.
